Secondary In-School Workshop
Suitable for Years 8 to 12
In regional areas Years 6 and 7 are encouraged to participate.
Open Stage hits the road again in 2014 to inspire creativity and confidence in classrooms across Queensland. Students in metropolitan and regional schools work with our artists each day to discover their creative potential through voice, movement and drama classes that are specially tailored to their abilities. At the end of the week the students and workshop team will take to the stage together to perform for their peers, family and the local community.
“It helped me a lot to show everyone my true self, and I made a lot of friends, and it made me confident.” Student, Varsity College, Gold Coast
“I have seen students blossom, spread their wings, inspired to pursue goals they only dreamed about attaining.” Teacher, Clermont SHS
Workshops run between Monday and Friday, with a showcase concert on the last evening (up to 25 contact hours per week). Open Stage School Residencies typically take place Monday to Friday, inside school hours. However, after-school programs can be made available.
